Caroline M. Tanner, M.D., Ph.D. is a neurologist with special expertise in movement disorders, epidemiology and environmental health sciences. As the Director of Clinical Research at the Parkinson?s Institute in Sunnyvale, California since 1990, she has combined her expertise to study new therapies and conduct neuroepidemiologic investigations of genetic and environmental risk factors for PD and other neurodegenerative diseases. Throughout her career she has been active in clinical research, patient care, teaching, and has published extensively. Dr. Tanner serves as advisor to many scientific, governmental and voluntary groups, including serving as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
