Roseanne D. Dobkin, PhD

Dr. Dobkin is a Professor of Psychiatry at Rutgers University- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a Clinical Psychologist in the New Jersey VA Healthcare System. Key objectives of her research program include improving the recognition, assessment, and treatment of the neuropsychiatric complications of Parkinson’s disease, advancing the understanding of the complex relationship between the motor and non-motor symptoms of PD and the influence of this interaction on course and progression of PD, and utilizing applications of telemedicine to leverage access to informed mental health care for all members of the PD community. To date, her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Patterson Trust Awards Program in Clinical Research, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the Parkinson’s Unity Walk, the Parkinson’s Foundation (PAIR Leadership Award), the Health Services Research and Development Division (HSR&D; Merit Award) of the Veteran Affairs (VA) Administration and the VA Office of Rural Health. In addition to her role on the executive steering committee, Dr. Dobkin serves as the scientific lead for recruitment and retention and the co-chair of the Cognitive and Psychiatric Working Group for PPMI.
